Do you know the problem? You take the patient off the infusion and after a short time there's blood in the extension or the catheter is clogged? The automatic flushing function of the Caresite^® valve during disconnection keeps positive pressure in the catheter, so that large amounts of blood cannot penetrate into the catheter. Before the next connection, the valve can be easily disinfected and subsequently used again for administering medications.

You're on the ward and, as always, things have to be done quickly: The connection to the catheter needs to be disinfected, but no disinfectant is available. Our individually packaged disinfectant wipes Softa^® Cloth CHX 2% fit in any white coat pocket and are therefore always close at hand.
