Do you know the problem? You take the patient off the infusion and after a short time there's blood in the extension or the catheter is clogged? The automatic flushing function of the Caresite® valve during disconnection keeps positive pressure in the catheter, so that large amounts of blood cannot penetrate into the catheter. Before the next connection, the valve can be easily disinfected and subsequently used again for administering medications.
